Pelvic floor therapy entails a combination of manual techniques, breathing exercises, posture adjustments, and both in-clinic and home exercises, along with plenty of education to empower you throughout your plan of care.

Pelvic floor therapy could help a multitude of symptoms and conditions.  With your initial evaluation, a physical therapist will be able to get a better understanding of your health and determine a personalized treatment plan for you.

Not necessarily! Depending on the symptoms you are experiencing, an internal pelvic exam/treatment of your pelvic floor muscle function can be extremely helpful. This is the most effective way for us to determine a personalized treatment plan that addresses your specific needs. It’s important to note that internal pelvic work is always your choice.

No! As of June 1st, referrals are no longer required in the state of Alabama. However, select insurance plans do require a referral for coverage of services.

The treatment session will last about 45 minutes. If  post-treatment modalities are deemed necessary, then your session will be an hour.

To ensure a smooth evaluation, make sure to:

1. 1. Fill out the paperwork within the patient portal in its entirety
   2. Bring identification and insurance cards with you 
   3.  Wear or bring loose fitting clothes for each appointment

At the evaluation, you and the therapist will go over the information completed in the portal, any goals that you may have, and the reason for therapy. The therapist may perform an external or internal exam at the first appointment to assess the muscles of the pelvic floor. Then a treatment plan will be built to work on any of the goals created and alleviate the symptoms or the cause.

No! If you do not want to use insurance, we have a self-pay option. Self-pay is $120 per visit for direct access. We also have packages: 4 visits for $460 and 8 visits for $800.

Our earliest appointment is available at 7 AM, Monday through Friday. The latest appointment times are as follows: on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, the last appointment is at 4:15 PM; on Wednesday, it’s at 1:00 PM; and on Friday, it’s at 12:15 PM. These appointment slots are in high demand, so be sure to schedule yours as soon as possible!
