Strong Moms, Strong Bodies: PT for Every Season of Motherhood

Motherhood asks a lot of your body often without giving you a roadmap for how to care for it along the way. At Nesin Pelvic Health, we see strong, capable women navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond while quietly dealing with pain, leakage, or a body that just doesn’t feel like their own.

Here’s the truth: you don’t have to “just deal with it.” Physical therapy can support you through every phase and not just when something goes wrong, but so you can feel strong the whole way through.

Pregnancy:

Back pain, pelvic pressure, hip discomfort.. Do these ring a bell? These are incredibly common during pregnancy. But common doesn’t mean normal.

Pelvic PT during pregnancy focuses on keeping you moving well as your body changes. That means building strength where you need it, relieving tension where you don’t, and teaching you how to move in ways that actually support your body (instead of fighting against it).

We also prepare you for delivery breathing strategies, pushing mechanics, and positioning, so you go in feeling informed and supported, not just hoping for the best.

Postpartum:

Getting cleared at 6 weeks is not the same as being fully recovered.

Whether you had a vaginal delivery or C-section, your body has been through a major event.

We work with moms on:

  • Core and pelvic floor recovery (including diastasis recti)
  • Leakage, urgency, or heaviness
  • Scar mobility and sensitivity
  • Pain with exercise or intimacy

But just as important, we help you rebuild trust in your body, so picking up your baby, getting back to workouts, or even just moving through your day feels good again.

The “In-Between” Years:

This is where a lot of moms fall through the cracks.

Months or even years after having kids, symptoms like leaking when you run, back pain after long days, or core weakness are often brushed off as “part of being a mom.” They’re not.

Pelvic PT in this stage is about filling that gap. We look at how you move, lift, carry, and exercise and help you do it in a way that actually supports your body long-term.

Menopause & Beyond:

Hormonal changes can bring new challenges such as leakage, prolapse, discomfort, but this stage is often the most overlooked when it comes to care.

The same principles apply: build strength, support your pelvic floor, and stay active in a way that works for your body now.

You’re not “past” taking care of your body, you’re just in a new phase of it.

If there’s one thing we want moms to know, it’s this: struggling in your body is not a requirement of motherhood.

Regardless of what stage you are in, you take care of everyone else. Let’s take care of you. Give us a call! (256) 513-8442
